What’s good ya’ll. I’m Bryan. Please forgive me for not knowing how to blog. I guess I’ll write about Prague.
I’m in a fascinating country. On one hand, its history is rooted in Western Europe. On the other, it is commonly associated with Eastern Europe because of its communist past (Czech people prefer the label central Europe). East or West, Prague has some sort of magical blend—Almost like a bowl of cereal poured with perfect milk and cocoa puff proportions. I’ll ask you to forgive me again for generalizing.
The Czech Republic has the lowest unemployment rate in the entire European Union. One might deduce that this is a city of go-getting hard workers—but it’s not. Go to a park, and you’ll find people of all ages sipping on beer or coffee. It doesn’t seem like they’re there for any specific reason. They’re just chillin. Go to a café in the morning, and you’ll find friends catching up in what looks like the most engaging conversation ever. No phones, no distractions. Go take the metro, and you’ll see a dog confidently taking the escalator. Czech people love their dogs, and the dogs love living like humans. To me, it seems like people in Prague find identity in things other than career. Kinda opposite to New York. It’s refreshing.
I also haven’t spent a single Thursday-Sunday in Prague (besides orientation). I think I’m peaking in life right now in terms of happiness. It’s crazy that when I get back from somewhere on Sunday, it’s only 3 days until the next trip. This makes booking everything a cluster#$%^&, but it’s manageable. I’ve linked a video bellow that shows my commute from Slezka (Dorm) to NYU Prague in the heart of Old Town. It is borderline unwatchable because of my unsteady hands. I’m also getting kind of car sick on this bus to Berlin, so I’ll stop here. Thanks for reading :)
Songs I’m listening to right now:
Nevermind—Dennis Lloyd Doesn’t Matter—Gallant Tribe—Bas Day 1—Honne Anything Tom Misch
